Tartan Design & Consultancy from one of Scotland’s foremost tartan experts. Peter MacDonald specialises in all aspects of Tartan; from design and tartan cloth to film and book consultancy. The emphasis is on the provision of unusual, traditional and rare tartans identified or designed for individual customers’ needs.  

Over 4500 tartans are available in material and finished goods; graphics and other specialist information are also available.

The Piper the to Laird of Grant by Richard Waitt c1714.  Both this portrait and that of Alasdair Mhor, Champion to the Laird, also by Waitt, seem to show the same tartan.  It is unlike any other tartan associated with the Grants.

John Campbell 4th Earl of Loudoun painted in his 'regimentals'.  He raised Loudoun's Highlanders 1745-48. He wears what is now known as Murray of Tullibardine whereas the regimental tartan was that which is now called Hunting MacLeod.
